Remembering the ANZACs…

25 Apr

Ollie and I struggled out of bed at 4am this morning to make it to the ANZAC Day dawn service  (5.15am!) at the NZ Embassy – so tired now, but it was definitely worth it!

We try to go every year to remember the Kiwi and Aussie soldiers that fought and died at Gallipoli in 1915, during WWI.

Plus, the NZ Embassy puts on the BEST breakfast afterwards! hehe 😉

After the big brekky we filled in the time before work by going to check out Ritan Park (Sun Temple Park) which is so pretty and one of my favourite parks in Beijing! And early morning is the best time to visit – everyone is out doing tai-chi, singing, dancing, jogging! Just a pity the sun didn’t want to come out…

7am Tai-Chi in the park!

Beijing is slowly warming up...these flowers make me so excited for summer! 🙂

Cruising round on my wee electric scooter hehe

Patrolling the Embassy district!

trying to keep my eyes open! and it's only 8am!

Hope everyone else had a great Easter Monday – and Anzac Day for all you Kiwis and Aussies! 🙂
