Silver jumper + sequinned clutch

30 Oct

Friday night’s outfit – a silver jumper and this sequinned clutch I found at Zara and totally loooove 🙂 I wore this to dinner at my favourite Spanish restaurant, Carmen – they have incredible white wine sangria and Spanish guitar performances!

It’s Sunday morning in Beijing and the smog so bad I can barely see the buildings across the street! Yuck! That’s not going to stop me from enjoying my Sunday though… am off to have ‘high tea’ this afternoon and then dinner with friends tonight 🙂 Hope you’re having a great Sunday wherever you are! 🙂

Cosy stripes

27 Oct

This is what I wore last Sunday, a striped jumper/sweater from H&M and my trench coat 🙂 I love how this sweater is loose fitting and has long sleeves, it makes it feel that much more cosy and warm!

It was a Sunday well spent – brunch with friends, cupcakes & hot chocolate, and then nibbling on giant ‘Jenga’ fries while watching NZ win the Rugby World Cup! Yes, I’ve also noticed that food is a rather common & recurring theme… haha 🙂 Tonight I’m planning a night of nothing – well, movies & yep – more food! Ahhh life in colder weather… 🙂 Thanks for reading you guys, and for all the lovely comments you leave!! 🙂

Red Wall

26 Oct

On Saturday night I had dinner with friends at one of my fav restaurants in Beijing, Hatsune 🙂 The sushi is AMAZING. Any-hu, after dinner we found this red wall and decided it would be perfect for some quick outfit shots! Thanks again to Sally for helping me with the pics 😉

As the weather in Beijing is getting colder, it’s getting warmer in NZ and I’m starting to miss home! But I have something exciting to look forward to – a friend is coming to visit from NZ next week! Hopefully she’ll bring me some treats from home.. hehe 😉 See you all tomorrow!

A casual Saturday

25 Oct

Happy Tuesday all! A quick & casual look of the day shot on the weekend outside 3.3 Mall, home to my favourite shoe store 🙂 We had ‘casually’ ( i.e. deliberately 😉 ) dropped by to check out their new arrivals.. I’m proud to announce that I was very self-restrained (ok fine, there were none in my ‘big’ size.. haha).

This jacket from H&M has been my go-to for keeping out the autumn chill so far, I love it! The wedges are purchases from when I was back in NZ (do you remember?).

In other good news – the sun has broken through the smog, and we have had two beautiful fall days in Beijing! : ) Now I just need to think of a costume for Halloween… any ideas? 🙂

Faux fur vest

24 Oct

Announcement: New Zealand is the 2011 Rugby World Cup Champion!! Hooray! 🙂 It was an incredibly close and nerve-wracking match, with the French side putting on a really good performance, but we just managed to squeeze to a 8-7 victory! I now have no voice or nails left… haha 😉

On to the outfit pics.. oh how I wish it was still warm enough to wear this faux fur vest without layers underneath like I did just last week.. but no, Beijing has suddenly decided: It Is Now Winter! I wore this to lunch with Sally – we were trying out this new place ‘Obentos‘ which does healthy Japanese food and Bento boxes! It’s also owned by a friend so that made it even more exciting 🙂 The food was so yummy and made me miss Japan – I was there for Christmas last year and ate almost nonstop the whole trip!

Back to the outfit… these boots are the charcoal version of the ones I wore in last week’s post, they’re so comfy (believe it or not!) and go so well with all my skinny jeans 🙂 And although we tried to hide it, what you can see in the background is not cloud but mild smog (yes mild – you should have seen it yesterday!)… isn’t it lovely!? :S Hope you all had a great weekend! 🙂

RWC & Aldo boots

23 Oct

New Zealand is through to the finals of this year’s Rugby World Cup, and I am SO EXCITED! We played Australia in the semi-finals last Sunday, and it was such an exciting game to watch (NZ won 20-6)! Just in case you’re not familiar, rugby is NZ’s national sport – and the whole country pretty much comes to a standstill whenever our team (the All Blacks) plays! Btw check out this awesome collaboration Bulgari did with the All Blacks 🙂

The weather was brilliant in Beijing and Sally helped me take a few outfit pics (thanks hun, you’re the best! 😉 ). What do you think of my new Aldo ankle boots? I LOVE them, and imagine I’ll be wearing them a lot this fall! 🙂 Well, am off now … to watch the FINAL against France!

Thanks so much for reading, and for all the lovely comments you post – I love reading them! See you again tomorrow! 🙂
