Yeti in the City!

16 Dec

Happy Friday everyone! 🙂 Today is a wonderful day – it’s my first official day of HOLIDAY (yay!) and I’m flying home to New Zealand tonight! I’m going to be spending Christmas with my family, and it’s been so long since we were all together so I’m really looking forward to it! Plus it’s almost summer in NZ so I am planning on spending a lot of time at the beach, hehe 🙂 It will be strange doing ‘summer’ outfit posts in the middle of Northern Hemisphere winter, but I’m excited to show you guys photos from around Auckland – it’s beautiful! 🙂 In other very exciting news – my new site is finally up and running! 🙂 I am so so happy with it, and want to say a huge big THANK YOU to my amazing boyfriend for helping me make it all happen 🙂 What do you guys think?? 🙂 Before I sign off, here is a quick post of my new jacket  – it’s very very fluffy/hairy and makes me look like a chicken if I’m not careful but I love it all the same! haha 😉 Next time I post it will be from NZ – until then, hope you all have a lovely Friday! 🙂 Photo credit goes to Adriana– thank you so much babe! 🙂 Jacket: Zara / Woollen jumper: Uniqlo / Jeans: Zara / Wedge booties: Spring / Sunnies: Karen Walker / Bracelets: markets / Bird skull necklace: Fashionology / Nailpolish: Chanel Peridot ♄B xx

Soak up the sun

14 Dec

I love finding new cafes and restaurants to try – it keeps life interesting, and in Beijing there are tempting new restaurants constantly springing up around the place! On Saturday we decided to try Le Petit Gourmand, a cafe nestled in Tongli Studios behind Sanlitun Village – and it didn’t disappoint! Lovely and cosy, with tasty, fresh food – it was the perfect place to enjoy a long, lazy Saturday lunch 🙂

With the sun shining it was also a chance for me to take my new shoes out for a walk! hehe 🙂 Apparently a lot of other people decided it was the perfect day for taking photos – there were photographers everywhere! A huge big thank you to my talented (and gorgeous!) friend, Adriana for helping me take these photos. I managed to snap a quick one of her too – isn’t she so cute? Love her headband! See you all again tomorrow 🙂 Continue reading

Zara Camel Coat

13 Dec

The sunshine and blue skies which lasted 5 days this time (a record!!) has again disappeared behind a cloud of fog which, as you can see from these pictures, makes everything look a bit grey – but at least it’s still not miserably cold yet, that’s something! 🙂

I love this camel coat and am wearing it almost every day – so glad I invested in this at the beginning of fall! I’ve also had incredible wear out of these ankle booties – their CPW (cost per wear) is getting ridiculously low! Hooray, success! 🙂 Honestly, where would I be without Zara? Reasonably priced, great clothes which I totally love – it’s hard to resist doing all my shopping there! haha 🙂 What stores or brands do you guys find yourselves shopping at the most?

Lunch break is almost up.. time to get on with my day! See you all tomorrow 🙂

AnyShopStyle – a festive season shoot!

12 Dec

A big happy Monday to you all! 🙂 Did you do anything exciting over the weekend? I had a major movie marathon and got through about 6 movies I’ve been wanting to see for ages… ended up  having a lot of weird mixed-up dreams last night as a result haha ;P

Last week I had my second shoot with AnyShopStyle, where we shot a collection of festive tees and sweaters by Chinese designer, Leo Kong. The shoot was a lot of fun – cute clothes, bright festive colours, oh and matching boy-girl tops too! Haha so cute! 🙂 Here are some of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ pictures, so you can check it all out.

By the way, the pictures from my first shoot are up on the site now – so weird (but fun!) seeing myself up there! hehe 😉  Hope you have a great day, and see you again tomorrow!  Continue reading

New Shoes!

11 Dec

Saw these beauties at Zara a few months ago, but unfortunately they were a little more than I could justify.. BUT just two days ago I saw them on sale with one pair left in my size! Well, talk about meant to be… I couldn’t walk away from that! haha 🙂 How has your Sunday been? I’m off to try and catch up on some movies I’ve been meaning to watch for ages – starting with The Wrestler! Have a great Sunday guys 🙂 Continue reading

A white coat + red lanterns

9 Dec

On a freezing cold but beautifully sunny day, we wandered around Beijing’s wonderful hutongs  – on the hunt (as usual) for somewhere to eat! haha 🙂 These pics were taken around the Beixinqiao area, where the red lanterns hanging outside the restaurants looked so cheerful and happy against the bright blue sky!

My outfit was pretty casual – my big warm Mango jacket, biker boots, and some grey accessories to keep out the wind! This is the winter weather I love best, sunshine and crisp, fresh air 🙂 What are your plans for the weekend? It’s just over two weeks til Christmas, and I need to find something for our staff Secret Santa & Christmas party next week. I think I’m going to check out The Hutong’s Christmas Fayre on Sunday.. maybe I’ll find inspiration there! : ) Happy Friday all!   Continue reading

Beijing Foodies + Little Flower Projects

8 Dec

A couple of weeks ago, some friends and I attended a ‘Beijing Foodies’ event at Starfish restaurant. Beijing Foodies is an event held once a month, designed to bring together people who love to try new restaurants and meet new people – and to do it all for a good cause, by raising money at each event for various charities.

This particular foodie event put the spotlight on Little Flower Projects, a not-for-profit organization which my dear friend Malaika helps run. The organization does amazing work providing care to abandoned or sick infants, and education  for older disabled orphans. Volunteers’ efforts and generous donations are the backbone supporting the organzation’s efforts, and it was wonderful to be able to contribute to Malaika and her team and bring a little attention to the work that Little Flower does. If you’d like to check out their blog, click here – you’ll see how cute these kids are!

My outfit for the evening was a combo of my faux fur vest, wet look jeans, and my more stylish pair of winter boots, which I found at 3.3 Mall last year. What do you think of the look? It’s a pity we had to take these photos at night so the quality is not so great, but thank you again to Sally for her valiant efforts to capture it all for me! 🙂

By the way, I have to apologize for the false alarm regarding my blog’s new look… apparently it will take a couple of days to complete the changes, so you (I) will have to be patient! My bad.. haha! See you tomorrow 🙂
